At the beginning of the 20th century, Colonel Wadsworth enlisted the Olmstead brothers landscape firm to design his estate.  This bench comes from an original Sugar Maple that helped form the broad allee along Long Lane in Middletown, once a part of the Wadsworth estate and now a part of Wesleyan’s campus.
