Turning Your Tree Into Furniture
✕We'll have a conversation with you to get a sense of the project. When possible we like to salvage twice the wood that is needed. We do this in anticipation of degradation during drying and processing and waste during fabrication. The extra amount also provides you with more slabs and lumber to choose from. Two helpful things for us to have before we talk: photos of your tree(s) and diameter of the tree trunk at chest height.
If your arborist can deliver the logs to our mill that is easiest. If that's not possible, we'll arrange a log truck to pick up the wood.
Within 4 weeks of the log pickup we'll mill your logs and send a photo inventory of the wood. (Note: How we mill directly affects what we can build, which is why the initial conversations about the project are important.) Once the slabs are cured, usually within 8-12 months, we kiln dry the wood.
After a detailed conversation with you about the furniture we'll send a sketch for your approval. We ask to have designs approved before the wood is cured so we can begin fabrication immediately after your wood is kiln dried.
We will coordinate the delivery of your beautiful new piece, as well as any necessary installation and final assembly.
