We made a series of benches from a red maple that came down in Middletown, just off Broad Street. Red Maple is the most common deciduous tree in the east. Its range stretches from Florida to Texas in the south and from Nova Scotia to Minnesota in the north. In the autumn its bright red foliage is a striking contrast against the dark green conifers.
