Ash is often called the poor man’s oak, but it has gorgeous grain. This rail bench table was made from a giant Ash that came down on Parmalee Road overlooking the Durham Fairgrounds. Currently, Ash trees across the country are under attack from the invasive Emerald ash borer beetle. Seven billion ash trees are threatened in North America and millions have died since the ash borer arrived in 1998.
We have a limited number of slabs from a section of this ash tree, which we think are spectacular for a gorgeous coffee tables. The grain, as you can see, is remarkable.
